Pork Tamago Onigiri was established for our customers to enjoy Onigiri made with care and for people to discover the truly delicious tastes of freshly made Onigiri.
STORY
Pork Tamago Onigiri is an Onigiri-Sandwich with a slice of grilled SPAM and fried egg. You can find this “soul food” at every convenience store and Bento shop in Okinawa. This Onigiri was unique both in shape and in the ingredients, and quickly became one of my favorite foods after relocating to Okinawa. Still, it wasn’t until much later that I discovered its true delight.
I’ll never forget the time when my wife, whom I married in Okinawa, first made me a Pork Tamago Onigiri for breakfast. It was completely different from all the Pork Tamago Onigiri that I had eaten before! It was fresh, hot, amazingly fluffy, and simply delicious. Pork Tamago Onigiri is a widely cherished taste of home in Okinawa, and the hot, freshly made Pork Tamago Onigiri is loved by the locals because of the heartwarming memories linked to the Onigiri made with great care and love by their mothers and grandmothers.
This moving experience was the starting point that led to the opening of Okinawa’s very first Pork Tamago Onigiri specialty shop. At our shops, we make each Onigiri by hand upon order because we want our customers to enjoy them at their best; fresh, hot, and made with love, just like in Okinawan homes.
